Photos from the kids' fun week with The Map Man while I worked every day at herding clinics. I'm so glad to be back home with my family again full-time!! Looks like the kids had a blast visiting local parks, playing in the yard, and hanging out with Dad.



And I'm happy to report, we're all set! Today is the day! We are poised on the edge of our first day of "school" and we're ready to jump off!! I began the day with the "Morning Song" as I got out of bed and opened the curtains, which the kids really loved, and reminded them that today was our "official" start of schoolwork. They are very excited and so am I.

We reviewed the photos from the week and they filled me in on all they did. Now I'm here, to check for important emails that just can't wait (fortunately, there were none!), toss up a quick post (check!) and print out the outline for our Harvest Adventure Circle (details to come in a future post!). Now for some chores, then breakfast, then we'll get rolling! Today is a therapy day, so there actually won't be much "school work" per se as we'll spend the afternoon at SLT and OT. But we're going to have our Adventure Circle, take our morning walk, and read the first part of "Little Falcon" (an Enki 1st Grade Fairy Tale). Tonight we'll probably go out to dinner to celebrate a successful 1st day, and to present the boys with their "school supplies".

Our little growing Monarch is all set, too. One day this week, the kids discovered that it had climbed to the top of the terrarium and was hanging in a J-shape.










And the following day, it had pupated and turned into a chrysalis! Now it's just a waiting game to see how long it takes for the Monarch Butterfly to emerge. What a great transformation to be taking place right at the start of our new year!
