Stanley Park

On Wednesday, The Map Man played "hooky" from work and joined us on our Spring Break, taking the boys to Stanley Park in Westfield, MA, while I attended a memorial service for a very dear great aunt who passed away over the weekend. We all met up again back at my parents' house for dinner that evening.

Here the boys are obviously exploring something, although I have no idea what, given that I didn't take the photos. (But kudos to The Map Man for not only figuring out my camera -- tee hee -- but also documenting their fun day at the park!)

They spent a bit of time at the playground. Here's Zoo Boy on what we like to call "the wobbly stepping stones". Does anyone actually know the name of this particular piece of common playground equipment?

J on some spinny thing. (I'm getting really technical today!) The kids are getting to the age where they'd really rather be off exploring in the woods, streams, and fields than playing on a playground. Which excites us to no end, since The Map Man and I aren't really "playground people".

The boys feeding the geese. It's a really pretty park, there are a whole series of ponds with various sorts of stone and wooden bridges (including that cool covered bridge in the background), an old blacksmith shop (also in the background), and a water wheel, in addition to a variety of formal and wildflower gardens.

Zoo Boy on one of the many bridges. Another gorgeous day, they just keep coming one right after another! It's rapidly making up for one of the worst winters (weather-wise) I can remember.
