Following my vow of spending as much time as possible outdoors this week, we trekked over to
Westmoor Park in West Hartford, CT, on Wednesday. We hooked up with T and B, took a walk through the woods, checked out the animals in the barnyard, hung out in the gardens, explored the nature center, then took a walk through the fields. Nice day!

Zoo Boy and B measure the girth of a very large Beech tree.

Meanwhile J checks out some of the gardens. Not much growing yet, this early in the spring. We'll come back to check them out when they are in bloom this summer.

In the nature center, J sees how he measures up compared to a Brown Bear. (He's about Yearling size. I, on the other hand, am a Big Bear. But we already knew that.)

Back outside, Zoo Boy takes a break by the side of the path to empty his shoes.
