our week thus far

A lack of posts, due to a whole lot of this going on. You know, the "nothing" that is the most important part of our lives! We've been squeezing in as much "nothing" as possible, although between classes and appointments, it's been a bit of a challenge this week.

Monday's Museum Explorers found us talking about colonial farm implements with the amazing Ms Anne. (Who, by the way, apparently knows everything, at least according to Zoo Boy, because she said, and this is an exact quote: "All working farms have chickens", hence passing Zoo Boy's litmus test for omnipotence.)

Ms Anne also shared toys that the colonial farming kids played with, and the class had a great time trying out each type of toy and playing some of the games that colonial kids played. It was a very fun class for all of us!

Annie got to meet a new special friend, my friend Susan, who is going to be working with Annie in the upcoming months.

And sadly, I have to report on the passing of our dear mare, Lacy. For the past year, Lacy fought a hard battle with DSLD, a degenerative connective tissue disease, and I did my best to keep her as comfortable as possible, but her conditioning was worsening rapidly, and she was telling me that it was time to let her go. This photo was taken in the spring of 2006, before she started showing symptoms. We all miss her keenly, especially Annie and me.
