While I was at a horse clinic yesterday, The Map Man took the boys to a state-run event at a shoreline park. It was a little cold for being on the beach, although the kids did have to at least visit the ocean for a bit. Unfortunately, with the gas prices what they are currently, I'm guessing our time at the Long Island Sound beaches is going to be a bit more limited this year than it was last year. Thank goodness we've got our local lake beach to fill our beach-going needs!
The kids made kites and flew them both on the beach, and in this grassy area. (In this photo, Zoo Boy is testing out his kite.)
There was a bubble-blowing station set up, with a variety of options for creating bubbles. Here J tries out a bubble wand.
The kids took part in a sack race (the two of them are in the middle of this jumping line-up).
They also participated in a game that involved throwing frisbees into hoops. The Map Man pronounced our boys to be frisbee-throwing prodigies!
Looks like they had a great day! I asked the boys what their favorite part of the day was. J said it was the bubble blowing. Zoo Boy said it was the bubble blowing. And the kites. And the beach. And the sack races. And touching a snake (at the nature center). And playing environmental games on the computer at the nature center. And the frisbees. And, oh yeah, did he mention the bubbles?
