apple picking

It was a glorious autumn afternoon for apple picking! Sparkling sunshine, bright blue sky, light autumn breezes, and gleaming red apples -- what more could you want?!

Well, an apple wagon ride to the orchard, of course!

J picks that perfect apple -- Macouns, our favorite!

Zoo Boy traipses across the orchard toting his heavy apple-laden bag.

YUM! (J takes his apple-eating very seriously, although he did exclaim "Wowsa!" when he took his first juicy bite. I agree, they are definitely "Wowsa!")

Let the apple cooking begin!! (We already made and devoured an apple crisp, but J is chomping at the bit to make applesauce. And Zoo Boy wants to cut some up to make apple prints with.)

What a great day for apple picking! We have our own trees, but no rides - unless you count piggy back :0) We just finished our second round of apple sauce and gingerbread making - Frog is nuts for gingerbread :0)

Looks like the boys had a great time today!

Sounds like so much fun. I long to go apple picking with my boys. We don't have an orchard within driving distance. Unless of course we ever feel the urge to go on a 30 hour road trip.

For now, we'll continue to imagine it, read about it, pretend it. Then go to the store (pretend we're in an orchard) pick our apples and go home for some old fashioned apple fun.

Have fun with your apples!
