the clan system

I realize that I'm horribly behind on posting (hate the new Blogger!) -- I will be making a concerted effort to catch up over the course of the next week or so, so please check back in frequently for updates!

In this story, Aionwahta's grandmother tells how the Onondaga tribe's clan system first started by He-Who-Has-Good-Ideas.  Above is J's drawing of a woman of one clan seeing a Bear while giving thanks at the river.  Her family became the Bear Clan.  Likewise, below,  Zoo Boy drew a woman of the Deer Clan seeing a deer.  The story also described the instructions for constructing a Longhouse, where the clans were to live.  We worked more with that idea the following day.  (See my next post for that.)

Above is J's story summary, below is Zoo Boy's.
