blessed in the forest

I'm feeling very blessed these days, with beautiful spring weather with us (and prior to all the bugs hatching out, which is bound to happen any minute), to have a lovely state forest just a couple of minutes from our front door, with a variety of opportunities.

There are forest roads to stroll on...

...blazed trails to hike...

...logging roads to traverse...

...deer paths to follow...

...raw woods to bushwhack through...

...private places to play in...

...challenges to undertake...

...and boundless opportunity for exploration, discovery, and learning.

Only problem, our morning walks have started consuming our entire mornings.

Wait, did I just call that a problem? No, no! THAT is the blessing!

We miss you too, Carolyn! I keep forgetting you're gone and go to pick up the phone to call and see if you want to go for a walk....
